Axial Deep Groove Ball Bearings

Axial deep groove ball bearings are unidirectional or bidirectional bearings that are designed only for axial loads. Axial deep groove ball bearings do not absorb radial loads.

The raceways are annular slots and since axial deep groove ball bearings are not self-retaining, housing and shaft washers and ball and cage assemblies are fitted separately.

  • Unidirectional axial deep groove ball bearings are three-part bearings (one housing washer, one shaft washer and a ball and cage assembly).
  • Bidirectional axial deep groove ball bearings are five-part bearings (two housing washers, two ball and cage assemblies and one shaft washer).
  • Axial deep groove ball bearings are manufactured with the normal tolerances (P0) of the radial bearings. P0 is not indicated in the bearing designation.

Bearings can also be manufactured with a greater precision to meet particular requirements.

In the standard version (S0) axial deep groove ball bearings are heat treated so that they are generally dimensionally stable up to max + 150 °C. Special heat treatments are required for higher operating temperature requirements.

  • S3       Operating temperature max. + 300 °C *
  • S4       Operating temperature max. + 350 °C *

M         Solid brass cage
